Why Choose St. Lucia for Your Special Day?

St. Lucia is one of the most popular Caribbean destinations in large part due to its awe-inspiring beauty.  The small island is known for its scenery, which includes mountains, volcanoes, beautiful forests, and of course, incredible beaches. But there is so much more.

Luxurious all-inclusive resorts, countless tourist attractions, and gourmet food are just a few of the other reasons why soon-to-be married couples choose St. Lucia as their destination wedding location.

The Perfect Wedding Atmosphere
St. Lucia is truly a one-of-a-kind wedding destination. With the Caribbean weather; white, sandy beaches such as Reduit Beach, Jalousie Beach, and Pigeon Island Beach; and the perfect water hue of the Eastern Caribbean Sea, St. Lucia provides the perfect setting for your wedding and moments that you’ll never forget.

Highly Rated Resorts
Where you stay in St. Lucia has a big impact on the quality of your trip. For couples looking for their destination wedding trip to be the perfect romantic getaway, Sandals resorts are a popular option. There are two Sandals resorts in St. Lucia that are located directly on the beach:

  • Sandals Grande St. Lucian Spa & Beach Resort is located on the northwestern area of the island along Pigeon Island Beach. This resort is the furthest Sandals location from Hewanorra International Airport, but the drive is just over an hour, so it really isn’t an inconvenience, as you can enjoy the local scenery on the drive.
  • Sandals Halcyon Beach is located on the west coast of St. Lucia, south of Sandals Grande St. Lucian Spa & Beach Resort. This all-inclusive resort is located on Choc Beach and serves as the perfect location for a destination wedding with its tropical gardens and luxurious amenities.

Both of these locations are all-inclusive resorts, have great sunset views, and are close enough to other major tourist attractions if you and your guests are interested in getting out of the resort and exploring the island.

Plenty of Things to Do and See, All Within an Hour of Wherever You Stay
St. Lucia is unique because it’s a small island, but there isn’t any shortage of things to do. If you plan on extending your destination wedding trip to St. Lucia into a honeymoon, you’ll appreciate the proximity of all the area’s attractions. Some of the most popular tourist destinations include:

  • The Pitons
The Pitons are two volcanic plugs that rise high above the St. Lucian landscape. The hiking trails can be challenging, but the views can’t be beat.
  • Des Barras Sea Turtle Watch
During the spring, primarily during the stretch between May and July, leatherback turtles head to Grand Anse to lay their eggs. These are the largest turtles in the world, so the Turtle Watch is truly a unique and unforgettable experience.
  • Anse Chastanet
This beach is known as one of the best places to snorkel and scuba dive in St. Lucia because it’s located near deep water and a coral reef. If exploring the ocean is on your priority list, this is the place for you!
